A Perfect Beginning
A Perfect Circle are perhaps the definitive American rock super-group. The band was formed in 1999 by Tool's lead vocalist Maynard James Keenan and session guitarist Billy Howerdel best known at the time for his work with Smashing Pumpkins and Nine Inch Nails. Maynard has said that Billy's original songs "really spoke to him" when he sang them, and even though Howerdel was really looking for a female lead for his new band, he agreed that Keenan's voice was what it needed. The fans loved it and the band decided to push through into the studio and released "Emotive" by November 2004.
