2018 see the return of Nightwish to the touring circuit. Nightwish tickets for their Decades: World Tour are available from this website and the band promises some "rarely heard material" as well as a "special set" for fans as they promote the release of their 2018 compilation album "Decades".

In the beginning...

Finnish metal band Nightwish began its journey in 1996 and was the brain child of Tuomas Holopainen, who is the main songwriter and their guitarist, Empuu Vuorinen. They have a distinctive sound which has been described as a hybrid of heavy metal with symphonic arrangements and classical vocals. However, initially their sound was more heavy metal meets Finnish country with influences like Nattvindens Grat, Metallica and Finnish campfire songs. Although Nightwish's success was almost instant in Finland, with their first album "Angels Fall First" reaching 31 in the Finnish charts, it took longer for them to gain an international audience. "Angels Fall First" is also the only album to feature Holopainen on vocals, these tracks are not even available on their 2018 compilation "Decades". Due to conscription commitments of band members in the early days, Nightwish tickets were hard to come by as the band only made 7 live appearances in their first year.

An International Audience with Nightwish Tickets

Due to their limited success with "Angels Fall First", their second album, "Oceanborn", was only released in Finland to begin with. It was of course a huge hit, with the first single "Sacrament of Wilderness" reaching number one in the Finnish charts. This album saw a departure from the folksy sound of their first offering and a move towards the blend of symphonics we hear from them today with their 2018 compilation. The band were so encouraged by the success of "Oceanborn", they were persuaded to release it internationally. They made the right decision and following the wonderful reception in Germany, were invited to open for "Rage" on their European tour. Fans were delighted to get Nightwish tickets with their Rage concert. It wasn't until their third album, "Wishmaster", in 2000 that their international name was made, with a particularly warm reception in Germany where their singles had previously started to make headway in the charts. They were on their way, and that year was their first world tour with Nightwish tickets available in South America, Mexico, Canada and Europe. In 2002 Nightwish release "Century Child" and it went straight to number 1 in Finland. They were now, officially the more successful Finnish band ever, but they were yet to break into the US and UK market completely. The band continued to tour and Nightwish tickets were always in high demand.

The World and Beyond...

The release of "Once" was the breakthrough that the band had been waiting for. The following world tour led them to countries where they had previously been unknown. The first single "Nemo" reached the charts of 6 countries and the tour meant that more people than ever wanted Nightwish tickets. The album included orchestral sounds from the London Philharmonic and critics claimed it to be their best work yet. Even today, it is considered a classic rock album. Since "Once", Nightwish has gone from strength to strength with three more studio albums, "Dark Passion Play" in 2007, "Imaginaerium" in 2011 and "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" in 2015, each receiving great critical reviews, and several live and compilation albums. They have also toured with each release and Nightwish tickets are always very popular with fans as their live show is often said to be pretty spectacular.
