From Crusade to PUR
PUR's first incarnation was as a band called " Crusade" in 1975. Co-founded by Ingo Reidl and Roland Bless in a small town outside of Stuttgart, they did not find their feet, as a band, until 1983 when they changed their name to "Opus". However, as an unsigned band, they were forced to produce and promote their self-titled album "Opus" themselves. In 1985, while again self-producing their second album, "Vorsicht Zerbrechlich", an Austrian band of the same name had a breakout international hit, "Live is Life". The band, who were still to get their big break, were forced to change their name, and PUR was born. Of course, if you have PUR tickets for their new 2018 tour you can still hear the early hits they had, even as Crusade or Opus.
Rising to Stardom
During the 1980's the band began to get more and more attention. They won several "new talent" awards in Germany and started to get a name for themselves for their sound and their evocative lyrics. Finally, in 1987 while trying to produce their third album "PUR", they got the break they had been working toward and signed a record deal with Intercord. They were on their way. The band toured all over Germany trying to promote themselves and began to develop an easy professionalism on stage. Locally, PUR tickets were in high demand. Their first single hit came from their next album ""Wie im Film" when "Funkelperlenaugen" found a wider audience on the radio in Germany. In 1990, with the release of "Unendlich Mehr", PUR achieved their first German album chart success. The following year they released "Nichts Ohne Grund" which gave them their first German hit single with "Lena", still a popular choice amongst gig audiences. PUR have always enjoyed touring, sometimes spending most of their working year performing live. PUR tickets for their concerts have, almost from the beginning, been extremely popular. Their 2018 German tour is likely to be no different. When they go on sale, PUR tickets almost always go fast.
Germany's Premier Arena Band- Save your PUR tickets now
PUR has gone from strength to strength over the years producing 16 studio albums and numerous compilation and "live" albums, but it is truly in the arena that they have made their name. Unlike other German bands, PUR have always chosen to sing in German. This has meant that their international success has been somewhat limited to German speaking countries. However, PUR has a very strong and loyal fan base who seek out PUR tickets whenever they are available. They have become a German institution with the ambition to see them, live, on many Germans' "bucket lists". Although the original line-up has changed over the years, with founder Roland Bless leaving the band in 2010 and Martin Stoeck leaving in 2015, their sound and their commitment to their music remains the same. In their journey to success PUR have toured nearly every year including 2018, playing to packed and often sold out audiences. PUR tickets are widely regarded as "the" tickets to have by concert goers.
