It came second only behind the Swiss National League A, and the 2019 DEL ice hockey season is set to be another huge hit - get your ice hockey tickets booked now to join in the fun! The DEL is run and owned by 14 member teams, including EHC Red Bull München, Eisbären Berlin and Thomas Sabo Ice Tigers. Whether it's current winners EHC Red Bull München (who have won the league the last three years), or last year's 14th-placed team Krefeld Pinguine - pick a team to support and get your ice hockey tickets ready to follow them through the league. Need help picking a team? Here are a couple of interesting ones. Current champions EHC Red Bull München entered the DEL in the 2010-11 season. They started off ranking down the bottom half of the table, finishing 11th and 12th place in the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons respectively, before finishing second in 2014-15 and winning the last three leagues. Adler Mannheim are one of six teams who have been in the DEL for the full 24 years. They frequently finish in the top half of the table, although they have two 10th place finishes in 2005-6 and 2015-16. The Fischtown Pinguins are the newest DEL team, having only played in the last two seasons. They placed 10th and 9th in these, however they could be like rivals EHC Red Bull München and make a big impact now they've found their feet. You'll have to get your 2019 DEL ice hockey tickets to find out how they do!

From the 1800's to 2019 - ice hockey tickets for a fast-paced contact sport!

Simple ball and stick games played in the United Kingdom and elsewhere in the 18th and 19th century are thought to be the earliest origins of hockey. These games made it across the ocean to North America, where several similar variations of winter sports appeared. These included games called 'shinny' and 'ice polo' and used informal rules. Ice hockey as we know and love it today developed in Canada, notably Montreal, where the first indoor ice hockey game took place on March 3rd, 1875. The sport retains a huge popularity in Canada, where it's known simply as 'hockey'. By the 1880's, amateur ice hockey leagues began to develop, with professional leagues forming from around 1900 onwards. Ice hockey eventually became an Olympic sport, appearing first in the Summer Olympics of 1920 followed by its inclusion in the Winter Olympics in 1924. If you're buying ice hockey tickets in 2019 you can expect an action-packed, fast-paced game!

Ice hockey tickets available to see your favorite team in action!

If you've been hoping for ice hockey tickets for a night out with friends, the start of the DEL league is a great time to get involved. Ice hockey is an action-packed contact sport which is incredibly fast and exciting to watch. Each team has six players in the rink, including the goaltender. The teams have curved sticks with which to aim a hard rubber disk, or puck, at the opposing team's goal. A professional ice hockey game consists of three 20 minute 'periods' of play, with the clock only running whilst the puck is in play. The teams swap sides after the end of each period. Infractions of the rules are most simply treated by a player being sent to the penalty box for a set period of time, leaving their team to continue with a player short. Penalty shots are also sometimes rewarded if a player has been stopped from aiming at the goal due to the illegal actions of another player. It all leads to a very exciting atmosphere and high tension game. Ice hockey tickets for the 2019 DEL are available now, promising an evening of excitement and great entertainment!
